The Seton Family of Ireland

The Seton's of Ireland came from Aberdeenshire, Scotland

Descended from the Seton's of Meldrum family branch of the House of Seton, in the northern region of Scotland, the family name is usually spelt as either S-E-A-T-O-N or S-E-E-T-O-N in Irish records.  There were, however, other Scottish Seton families who settled in Ireland at various periods in history, from the Seton's of Touch family, and from the Seaton's of Ayrshire, and Pitlorchy, branch lines in southern Scotland.

The senior representative of the line is unknown.
