The Garden, as created by Sir Alexander Seton, Lord Pitmedden and 1st Baronet Pitmedden, was masterfully re-worked by the National Trust, and though no plan of the original survives, it is believed that the current design, based on Jacobean-Stuart-Styles, is fairly representative of what it would have been like, given the Seton's history for similar gardens of the time.
