Sir John Seton,
3rd son of the 7th Lord Seton, was born 1553 and married
Ann, daughter of the 7th Lord Forbes. He was
brought up at the Court of Spain, honoured
by King Philip II with Knighthood in the Order of
St. James of Calatrava and was a
Gentleman of the Bedchamber. King James
VI and I called him home and made him Master of the Kings
Horse, Master of the Kings Household for Life, and
an Extraordinary Lord of Justice. His son
and heir, Sir John Seton was Officer of the
Court of King Charles I.
